In downtown Tuscumbia, AL, approximately 1 hour from downtown Huntsville, lies the beautiful Spring Park. My family recently visited the park after touring Helen Keller’s birthplace, Ivy Green, and was pleasantly surprised at what this park had to offer. Since 1919, the park has provided a beautiful setting with many attractions, including Cold Water Falls, the largest human-made natural stone waterfall. The waterfall is hidden directly beside the parking lot, allowing visitors only a short, accessible walk. This waterfall, unlike natural waterfalls, is ever flowing, with approximately 4,320,000 gallons of water passing over the falls each day, making it perfect to visit when waterfalls are hard to come by.
