    Tuscumbia Spring Park

    In downtown Tuscumbia, AL, approximately 1 hour from downtown Huntsville, lies the beautiful Spring Park. My family recently visited the park after touring Helen Keller’s birthplace, Ivy Green, and was pleasantly surprised at what this park had to offer. Since 1919, the park has provided a beautiful setting with many attractions, including Cold Water Falls, the largest human-made natural stone waterfall. The waterfall is hidden directly beside the parking lot, allowing visitors only a short, accessible walk. This waterfall, unlike natural waterfalls, is ever flowing, with approximately 4,320,000 gallons of water passing over the falls each day, making it perfect to visit when waterfalls are hard to come by.     Strawberry Picking at Brown Farms

    One of my family’s favorite thing to do each year in the spring is to pick strawberries at Brown Farms in New Market, Alabama. They allow the customers to pick their own strawberries, making it a fun adventure for the entire family. Brown Farms has been serving the Huntsville area strawberries since 1950.  The family farm has over 15 acres dedicated to just fresh strawberries. Brown Farms is a perfect place to spend the day picking your own fruit or purchasing the strawberries they have already picked in the store.
