Alum Hollow Trail at Green Mountain

Alum Hollow Trail, situated within Green Mountain Nature Preserve in Huntsville, Alabama, stands out as one of my family’s favorites. Approximately half a mile from the Madison County Nature Trail, it is one among the many trails overseen by The Land Trust of North Alabama. This 2.2- mile out-and-back trail is not only easily navigable but also family-friendly, featuring clear markings, a captivating waterfall, and an intriguing cave. This trail is an ideal choice for beginners or those accompanied by children. My eldest, at the…

    Space and Rocket Center Trails

Each trail connects to the others, offering about four miles total, but hikers can easily exit the trail if they want to do…

    Hiking Bethel Springs Nature Preserve

The first one, Bethel Creek Loop, is at the start of the preserve. The trail is a 0.3-mile simple loop. The trail starts off on a small bridge. Hikers proceed to pass through farmland, Bethel Creek and a valley view looking up at Keel Mountain. The next trail is one of my family’s favorite trails and is actually three trails combined to…
